Voices wanted for choir
LYTHAM St Annes Choral Society is looking for new singers in each section but particularly sopranos and tenors.
Their next concert is in April and rehearsals start next Tuesday January 18.
The pieces they will be performing are Elgar's Songs from the Bavarian Highlands and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana with its familiar O Fortuna chorus which has featured in numerous television commercials and films.
If you would like to sing with the Choral Society just attend a rehearsal on a Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in the school room behind St Annes United Reformed Church, next to Ashton Gardens where you will be assured of a warm welcome.
The choir gives three concerts per year and sings at other events. Over the Christmas period members sang to at the Christmas party of NADFAS, the Christmas lights switch-on in Lytham, and the Rotary/Inner Wheel Christmas service at St Cuthbert's.
Other regular events include a wine tasting evening, an annual dinner and a summer barbecue.
