Two family theatre treats
Low cost family entertainment is heading to Wyre in the next few months.
Mike Kenny's The Scarecrow and Steven Lee's The Koala Who Learned To Hug are two new theatre productions aimed at the youngest members of the family with ticket prices kept to just 3 in an attempt to attract newcomers to the theatre.
Both productions are also written for parents to enjoy with their children, with important themes of friendship and family woven in.
The Scarecrow will be staged at Thornton Little Theatre on Friday February 25 starting at 2pm.
Through dance and puppetry it tells the story of a lonely scarecrow and a bunch of noisy crows who grudgingly come to admit they depend on each other and become friends.
Last year it was shortlisted for Best Play for Children and Young People at The Writers' Guild of Great Britain. It is being brought to Wyre by ajtc Theatre Company.
Then on Saturday March 26, Karen the koala, Natalie Wombat and the Reggae Beavers arrive at Fleetwood Marine Hall from their home Down Under.
The Koala Who Learned To Hug is a charming tale about the magic of family and the importance of a nice warm hug. The People's Theatre Company are promising great stories, singalong songs, superb games and of course first class hugging.
Their show has played to sell-out audiences throughout the country, with the latest tour being extended to include Fleetwood.
As an extra treat writer Steven Lee will be in the foyer after the performance to sign copies of How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales which will be on sale at a specially reduced rate.
