The organist entertains once more

Kevin Morgan – a regular contributor to Radio 2's The Organist Entertains programme – will make a return visit to St Cuthbert's Church in Lytham on Friday at 7.30pm to perform a programme of theatre, classical organ and digital piano music..

Kevin began to play the piano at the age of three and at school was awarded many national prizes.

At nine he started playing the organ and two years later, in his first term at secondary school, he played for his first service of Choral Evensong in Salisbury Cathedral.

Having studied extensively he moved to Bolton in 1986 to become organist and choirmaster at the Parish Church. The late Ron Curtis introduced him to the theatre organ and subsequently shared many concerts.

A prize winning fellow of the Royal College of Organists, a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music London, he also holds Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees.

He undertakes a variety of freelance work as musical director, composer and arranger in addition to playing solo concerts.

A demanding concert and recording schedule regularly takes him the length and breadth of Britain and Europe. He has played in many major organ festivals, directed choirs, choral and operatic societies, accompanied many singers in cabaret, played for ballroom and sequence dancing and is a regular contributor to The Organist Entertains on BBC Radio 2.

He was the elected patron of the Theatre Organ Club for 2005.

As usual, St Cuthbert's specially installed video system should allow the audience to appreciate the organist's mastery of keys, stops and pedals.

Tickets are 7 on the door.
