Sunday charity film for wimps
BLACKPOOL Odeon is giving local film fans the chance to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid first, whilst raising money for the NSPCC and The Variety Club with an advance screening on Sunday at 2pm.
To Greg Heffley, middle school is the dumbest idea ever invented.
To survive the never-ending ordeal of middle school and attain the recognition and status, Greg devises an endless series of can't-miss schemes, all of which, of course, go awry.
And he's getting it all down on paper, via a diary – "it's NOT a diary, it's a journal!" Greg insists, preferring the less-sissyfied designation - filled with his opinions, thoughts, tales of family trials and tribulations, and (would-be) schoolyard triumphs.
"One day when I'm famous," writes Greg, "I'll have better things to do than answer peoples' stupid questions all day." So was born the Wimpy Kid's diary.
Colin Alexander, General Manager of the ODEON said: "We're delighted to be able to offer local film fans the chance to see some of this year's hottest releases, and to have the opportunity to help raise money for a worthy cause."
Tickets for the screening are on sale now so to book your tickets or for further information visit Odeon's website odeon.co.uk, ring the Odeon Filmline on 0871 22 44 007 or head to the Odeon Blackpool's box office.
