Paying tribute

The legend of summer show Legends is growing – with two Blackpool venues staging three different rock and pop tribute shows this summer.

Producer Trevor Chance is celebrating 19 years at the top of the tribute industry - and 11 years in Blackpool - by staging two simultaneous shows with three different line-ups in two sifferent venues.

After last year's sell out 10th anniversary production in the Legends Showbar on Central Pier two different rock and pop line-ups are again alternating at the venue.

The Legends Live show opened last night and will run at Central Pier until October 31 one week featuring a line up of Freddie Mercury and Queen, this year joined by Buddy Holly, Diana Ross and Neil Diamond and the the next a Brit-invasion of David Bowie, George Michael, Robbie Williams and John Lennon.

Both shows will again feature comedy compere Tom Bright.

And for the first time, this year Trevor Chance will also be presenting Legends - Rock Royalty in Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

The show continues the format of the Central Pier show combining tribute acts, a live band, dancers and a full production production plus the twist of a "royal" theme with The King (Elvis Presley), The Queen (Elton John), "Bonnie" Prince Charlie (Rod Stewart) and the Princess of Pop (Kylie Minogue).

On the nights Kylie is elsewhere Irish "Prince" Ronan Keating will be stepping into the limelight.

Legends - Rock Royalty runs from July 18 to October 31 on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights.

There will also be unique collaborations this year, as both venues will introduce a "Legends-Cam" enabling the likes of George Michael and Elton John duetting one last time.....without being on the same stage.
