Bob the Builder was on hand to help children build sandcastles in a competition on Blackpool beach.

Madame Tussauds provided buckets and spades for children wanting to join the competition on the sands opposite the promenade attraction on Saturday.
Matthew Titherington, general manager of Madame Tussauds Blackpool, said: “There is something quintessentially British about heading to the beach and building sandcastles and who better to oversee constructions than Bob the Builder?”
