MUSIC has always played a big part in the life of Yvonne Fielding.

As Miss Yvonne Carter, she attended Blackpool Collegiate Grammar School for Girls, and is pictured in this 1963 photograph of the choir with conductor Miss Burns.

Yvonne says: “I am next to the back row, and fourth from the left, a skinny 13-year-old!

“I am sending it in because I just wondered if any of the girls featured went on to pursue a career in singing, as I did myself in the 1970s.

“One of the girls was Joan Atherton, who, along with myself, was also in the school orchestra. Joan was a fabulous musician and played first violin. I remember sitting behind her playing second violin – she was so talented that I decided to stick to singing. I believe Joan went on to be a professional musician.

“At the time of this photograph, I was singing mostly classical,” says Yvonne, “and by a strange quirk of fate, I am now married to Pete Fielding who, in 1963, was in local rock band The Executives, who were featured in Memory Lane a couple of years ago.

“Pete is still performing and we do quite a bit of musical stuff together now.”

Yvonne adds: “It would be nice if any old friends got in touch.”
