Have your say

Chances are they would struggle with the word at their tender age, but these pupils at Grange Park Infants School were more than happy to take a closer look at this “anthropomorphic” visitor in April 1974.

It was Herbie, the movie car, who – on the silver screen, at least – had some very human characteristiscs. The 1963 Volkswagen racing Beetle was the star of Walt Disney’s blockbuster family comedy Herbie Rides Again, the first of a staggering four sequels to the popular 1968 film The Love Bug. Herbie Rides Again was being screened at Blackpool Odeon and the car visited the school in conjunction with a road safety scheme. Are you in the photograph?
