Legend unveils Comedy Carpet

Waiting for Video...

“THEY talk about the Hollywood Walk of Fame – but no-one else has one of these!”

Comedy great Ken Dodd says Blackpool’s newest gag-tatsic attraction will become as legendary as the hundreds of jokes and catchphrases on it.

He reckons crowds will flock to see the Tower Festival Headland’s new Comedy Carpet – and all leave with smiles on their faces.

Officially opening the new attraction, the star, who has performed in the resort every year since 1954, said: “I think it’s going to be visited by millions. The people of the north love to laugh, above anything else.

“Blackpool is the greatest show town in the world.”

The artwork was likened to the Angel of the North sculpture in the North East in terms of the impact it would have as a public piece of art.
