Joseph review - Blackpool Grand
A family favourite, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat proved a dream night for musical lovers of all ages.
With spoofs of calypso and country music mixed with unforgettable songs, including Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's magical musical is still a must-see.
With three popular finalists from recent TV shows taking centre stage, director Bill Kenwright was always on to a winner.
Craig Chalmers, from BBC series Any Dream Will Do, gave a super performance as Joseph. And wearing nothing but a loin cloth to cover his modesty, no doubt set a few hearts a flutter.

As the Narrator, Tara Bethan – one of I'd Do Anything's Nancy hopefuls – hit all the right notes with a stunning performance.
Although based on a Biblical story, there are plenty of comedy moments from singing camels to thought bubbles to Pharaoh, played by Antony Hansen (also of Any Dream Will Do fame), parading on the stage as Elvis.
Joseph's energetic brothers impressed with the quality of their acting and singing while the sweet, dulcet tones of the children's chorus, from Marton-based Michael Hall Theatre School, added heart-warming appeal.
Two young fans, Abbey and Jack Taylor from Layton, epitomised the feeling of the packed out theatre as they stood to their feet waving a "Thank you Joseph" banner in the air.
With lively music and the cast's dazzling performance, it wasn't just Joseph's coat which looked amazing.
n Until Saturday, July 19.
