Extra Diversity
Blackpool's biggest ever weekend of pop, rock and dance has added a Sunday matinee to its programme.
UDO Live, a series of star-studded dance and music events taking place over August Bank Holiday weekend, has added a second Sunday performance following a sell-out for the show featuring Diversity, Olly Murs and Twist & Pulse.
The music and dance extravaganzas take place in the Winter Gardens from August 27 to 30 and also include Britain's Got Talent 2010 winners Spellbound and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, along with a host of other acts including Jedward and A3.
The weekend opens on Friday with a show featuring Britain's Got Talent 2010 finalist Tobias Mead, up and coming boy bands VICE and Frixion, Sky 1 Got To Dance winner Akai and Britain's Got Talent 2010 semi-finalists A3.
Previously announced headliner Chipmunk will no longer be performing in this show.
Taking centre stage on Saturday will be Britain's Got Talent winner, Spellbound. Labelled by Simon Cowell as an act worthy of opening the 2010 Olympics, it's a rare opportunity to see Spellbound perform in an intimate environment.
Supporting them will be popular duo Jedward and X-Factor favourites Same Difference.
The night will be hosted by Jonathan Wilkes, best friend of Robbie Williams.
On Sunday Diversity, Twist & Pulse, Olly Murs, and winners of the BBC's Move Like Michael dance crew Animaneaux, will be performing a range of Michael Jackson inspired songs and dance acts in celebration of the music legend's life. Due to prior commitments Olly Murs will not be able to perform at the matinee show. X Factor 2008 winner Alexandra Burke will conclude the weekend on Monday August 30 supported by Britain's Got Talent 2010 finalists Connected (since renamed Reconnected) and also boyband VICE.
Simon Dibley, chief executive of the United Dance Organisation (UDO) who founded UDO Live, said: "Tickets are selling fast. With just days to go we're expecting to sell-out the other three shows too so we would recommend fans get their tickets quickly to avoid disappointment."
Running alongside UDO Live will be the United Dance Organisation's World Street Dance Championships which attracts over 3,500 contestants from across Europe and Africa. Almost 12,000 visitors are expected to attend the World Street Dance Championships and UDO Live over the course of the weekend.
