TWO teenagers are hoping to pull in the crowds as they organise a charity concert to raise money for Trinity Hospice.

Jack Sprigg, 17, and friend Mike Cowling, 19, have arranged a musical bonanza called One Night Only on February 25 at Thornton Little Theatre.

The pair have issued a call to arms to local dance groups and musical performers to showcase their talents and raise money at the Victoria Road East venue.

Jack, who is a sixth former at Arnold School in South Shore, decided to put the concert on after family members and friends were affected by cancer.

He said: “The acts who have agreed to take part are great so it stands to be a really good night of local entertainment.

“I have actually put on a few nights before so decided I wanted to do something to raise money for Trinity Hospice.

“Last year our family lost a very good friend to cancer.

“My mum also continues to battle skin cancer, so the cause is particularly close to my heart.

“It’s also a chance to stage local talent in Thornton, and music management is something I want to do in the future as a career.”

The pair have managed to recruit a wealth of young musicians and artists for the show.

The line up will include: RnB singer Rob Eagle, Tom Hammond, Alex Schofield and Tom Sanderson.

Local dancers will also be taking to the stage as the FreeFly Dance group and FY Westcoast perform.

Jack added: “Getting the acts to take part wasn’t a problem, they were more than willing to lend a helping hand when we asked them for help.

“Ticket sales are going well, it’s very good.

“We have been really busy promoting the concert and setting up online ticket sales so we really hope we will get lots of people turning up on the night.”
