Comedy hot shot

Headlining November's Comedy Station at The Edge in Poulton tomorrow is Debra-Jane Appleby (right).

Intelligent, original, magical, spontaneous and funny – those are just some of the words which have been used to describe this hotly- tipped comedienne.

She has appeared on stage and screen and is winner of both The Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Funny Women Comedy Award in 2005 and she is fast becoming one of the most popular and in-demand comedians in the country.

Currently recording for the BBC and Paramount Comedy and with interest from Channel , 4, Debra-Jane Appleby is making her mark on both the comedy circuit and the broadcast industry.

Supporting Debra-Jane is one of Manchester's favourite comedians, Ian Fox.

Ian has performed all over the UK and abroad. He was also a member of the topical comedy team Men@Work at the Manchester Comedy Store.

In August 2006 he made his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to critical acclaim with his show The Butterfly Effect which was later developed into a BBC Radio Pilot.

In 2007 he followed it up in 2007 with One Man Defective Story. In 2008 he supported Arthur Smith at the Lowry in Salford.

Assisting Ian with the support is Terry Milligan, who you may have seen in the third round of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.

Terry is often compared to Reeves and Mortimer, with his mixed style of unbridled unpredictability which has had many audiences shouting for more. Compere for the evening, as usual will be Poulton’s own Ryan Gleeson

Doors open at 8pm and entry is 5. Tables can be reserved by e-mailing comedystation@hot mail.com or by leaving your details on (07956) 108 361.
