Better be quick if you want to hit the big time

The last heat of Star Idol at Blackpool Pleasure Beach is this Friday – meaning that time is running out for budding performers to register to enter.

Star Idol is celebrating its seventh year this season and follows in the tradition of talent shows hosted at the amusement park.

The search is on for singers, dancers, comedians and speciality acts to compete in the entertaining challenge.

Judges are looking for someone with that extra special talent and a dazzling stage presence.

Last week's heat saw Gareth Jenkins scoop the 50 heat prize and a position in the final with an operatic performance which received a standing ovation from the audience.

Following him to the final from last week are juggler James Wade and keyboard player Thomas Donaguge, whose slick routines also landed them a chance at the 500 grand final prize.

Whether you wish to perform or simply enjoy the show, Star Idol in The Horseshoe has a fully licensed bar and also serves snacks. Children are welcome in the venue and entry is completely free for everyone with doors opening from 7pm.

There is still time to enter – visit www.pleasurebeachresort.com/staridol and complete the online application form or alternatively call (01253) 336329 for more details.
