Beatles sounds from Chicago
American burgers are better than ours and their buildings are bigger than ours but what about their Beatles tribute groups?
Fans of John, Paul, George and Ringo will be able to judge for themselves on Wednesday when Stateside quartet The Cavern Beat make a return appearance to the Fylde coast with an appearance at The Edge in Kirkham as part of their latest UK tour.
Formed in Chicago in 2003 The Cavern Beat claim to be "the busiest Beatles tribute band in the Midwest" and specialise in performing the early Beatles hits – and some of Ringo's tunes.
The Cavern Beat consist of Jim Irizarry as John, Armando "Iron Pipes" Regalado as Paul, James Lynch as George and Al Wagner as Ringo.
They will be playing two sets at The Edge and admission is free.
"We had the band at Poulton when we ran The Edge there and they went down a storm with dozens of requests for a return appearance so we thought we'd give our Kirkham customers a treat too," said Edge owner Ian Calvert. "We are hoping it will be as busy as Poulton was when we had them there.
"And once they launch into the songs I challenge anyone to now that they are from America rather than Merseyside."
