All star cast for Grand mystery

Frederick Knott's fascinating Write Me a Murder slips into Blackpool's Grand Theatre from Monday to Saturday with an all-star cast.

The thriller is led by Leslie Grantham, Christopher Villiers , Paul Opacic and Helen Weir.

Brothers Clive and David Rodingham inherit the family fortune upon the death of their father. They then meet business man Charles and his wife Julie - a would-be thriller writer.

Charles is anxious to work with the brothers on property deals and so encourages David, who is also a writer, to co-author a murder story with Julie. It isn't long before the two concoct the perfect crime, which is soon twisted into a reality.

But who is double-crossing who? Who is the murderer… and who is the victim?

Ian Dickens Productions invite you to solve the deadly dilemma in this intricate maze of clues and crimes, and cross and double cross.

Written by Frederick Knott, one of the most successful thriller writers of all time (Wait Until Dark and Dial 'M' for Murder), this ingenious star-studded thriller promises an evening of gripping drama with plenty of twists and turns.

Leslie Grantham (above) is best known as playing loveable rogue "Dirty" Den Watts in BBC's long running soap EastEnders.

Christopher Villiers's work ranges from BBC's Mansfield Park, First Knight with Sean Connery and Richard Gere to Bloody Sunday and Murphy's Law (both with James Nesbitt). For the past three years, has been playing wealthy solicitor Grayson Sinclair in ITV's soap Emmerdale.

Paul Opacic will be remembered for playing Mark Waddle in ITV1's hit prison drama Bad Girls and Helen Weir for many years played Emmerdale's Pat Sugden.
