All ready for Rod weekend
Rod Stewart fans from all over the world will be "Sailing" into Blackpool later this month for their annual tribute weekend and convention.
Organised by Dave Reddy of the Manchester-based Rod Stewart Chronicle (RSC) the weekend is backed by Rod and is attended by members of his family and band
members.
It attracts fans from all around the world and this year they will be
attending from as far away as Brazil.
Over the past 10 years the RSC has raised over 50,000 for various
charities with its a big party weekend.
The three night event is
dedicated to Rod Stewart each night features tribute artists, a Rod disco, unseen videos plus auctions and
raffles where prizes donated by Rod can be won.
The Sunday night winds down with a fancy dress event.
This year's Big Weekend is being staged at the Norbreck Castle in Blackpool from Friday February 26 to Monday March 1 and this year's charity beneficiary will be Moodswings, a Manchester based charity supporting people with bi-polar disorders which is backed by Coronation Street's Fizz (Jenny McAlpine) who will be attending the Big Weekend.
