A Gilbert and Sullivan treat
AFTER its successful production of The Mikado in March at both the Playhouse Theatre in Preston and the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham, Preston Gilbert & Sullivan Society is now presenting a concert at St Margaret's Church, St Leonard's Road West, St Annes next Friday at 7.30pm.
Preston Gilbert & Sullivan Society has put on one or more of the Savoy Operas in Preston every year since its foundation in 1954 and started bringing its shows to the Lowther Pavilion in the late 1980s for the enjoyment of Fylde Coast audiences.
At St Margaret's, the society will sing a varied programme of music including extracts from Shows like The Mikado, The Pirates of Penzance, Ruddigore and Mama Mia and items like the 23rd Psalm by Howard Goodall (better known as the Vicar of Dibley music), The Long and Winding Road (Lennon & McCartney), Ave Maria, Panis Angelicus and For the Beauty of the Earth (Rutter). Audience participation will be encouraged!
Tickets are 6 (concessions 5) available on the door.
