End of democracy?
With reference to your reports concerning the BNP.
When the leader of the Tory's David Cameron was in Preston he said he hoped no-one would acknowledge the BNP member democratically elected to Lancashire County Council during the meetings.
A kick in the teeth for the democratic
voters of the No
rth West and the candidates.
WhenNick Griffin wanted to speak
outside the Houses of Parliament, a
democratically elected MEP no police
protection was given to him, a kick in the teeth for democracy and the voters of the North West by the Metropolitan Police and his eminence the Bishop of Blackburn a bizarre day for our region democracy ridiculed once more.
I have no connection with any political party and did not vote for the BNP but I think the worst thing for the North West and the country is not the BNP but the erosion of
democracy in this country by people who should know better.

Regarding the BNP, everyone has a right to vote for whoever they want to, not to mention the faults and mistakes our
Government have made.
At least the BNP believe in Britain and I do not consider them a Nazi party or racist.
Even the Labour party have had eggs thrown at them and the deputy Prime
Minister was involved in a punch up on the political roundabout.
I often wonder whether we live in a free country or not.
I am not a member of the BNP neither am I bias towards them but hope we can live in a better world.

n The BNP is the only legitimate political party who steadfastly want us to be out of the EU, where laws and regulations are brought about by faceless politicians – ask any
forcefully retired trawlerman in Fleetwood what he thinks about the EU, for instance.
In the recent elections the BNP achieved, around 10 per cent of votes.

Square an absolute disgrace
A few weeks ago my wife and I
visited Blackpool and at that time a dance festival was in progress at the Winter Gardens.
There were therefore many
foreign visitors taking part and we were appaled at the state of the town centre which our visitors would see as they came out of the Gardens building.
All around the St John's Church area was a large number of brick sets forming a pattern between Cedar Square and Abingdon Street. It was very busy and there were many workmen about. The
disturbing feature was the immense amount of litter in the gutter areas.
Plastic bottles and cups, old newspapers, empty card boxes, all sorts of discarded fast food containers, old milk bottles, a complete mess. We cringed at the thought of what our visitors would think. We returned home presuming all this mess would be cleared up soon.
Imagine our utter disgust when yesterday we again went into
Blackpool only to find the same amount of filthy rubbish littering the whole area. If the contractors are responsible for cleaning the mess, have we no council worker to supervise the work?

Labour investment
I was surprised to read Ron Bell's advertisement in The Gazette where he claims to know everything about
Blackpool and also states that the Government has not
invested in Blackpool.
Doesn't he know about the Southern Gateway and the lovely Promenade there or the upgrading of the solarium
renamed Solaris?
Hasn't he noticed the sea defences and the headlands nearly completed?
Did he miss Sadiq Khan, the transport minister,
accompanied by Gordon Marsden and Joan Humble bring the second part of the Governments financial investment in our iconic tramway system.
All this regeneration brought to fruition through the efforts of the previous council, our two members of parliament and investment from the Government.
The residents of Blackpool know who has spearheaded the regeneration of our
resort.

I am not surprise that Michael Jack was unavailable for comment. His expenses claims are a disgrace. A very good job he is quitting as an MP-a poor one at that.
As regards Humble, who does she think she is kidding! She was openly OPPOSED to details of claims being published. Her claims are also disgraceful. She like the rest have deliberately and knowingly milked a corrupt system for their own benefit. They have no genuine concern for our country only for greedy self.
Let's get rid of the appalling lot at the next general election.

The communist extreme mob called the UAF are the real trouble makers. They should be banned. Thet are an ignorant, ill disciplined group whose sole aim is to cause trouble. Drop outs everyone of them.

#4 I think his second home allowance is so low because he puts his Blackpool flat down as his second-home because it said in the Gazette he already owned the Brighton home before he became an MP. So basically despite the fact he is rarely ever in Blackpool the taxpayer is subsidising his flat. I could prove it for certain if his claims weren't blacked out.
