A WESHAM councillor has expressed his concerns over recent fires.
In recent months there have been several cases of domestic fires in the rural Fylde area.

Wesham councillor, Simon Renwick, said: "We have a dedicated and professional fire and rescue service in Rural Fylde, however I am concerned about what lies behind the recent spate of fires.

"I've asked the Chief Fire Officer to let me know the figures from previous years compared to this and I've also asked what informational and educational campaigns are happening in Rural Fylde at present."

He added: "Only recently we've seen a house fire in Wesham and now one in Salwick.

"This comes on top of the arson at Carr Hill. We all know the dangers of fire and we must do all we can to spread fire safety word."
