VANDALS have heaped fresh misery on the heads of Coastwatch volunteers at Fleetwood.
Three more windows have been destroyed at their Rossall Point lookout - to add to the two that were targeted last week.

Volunteer Frank Bee said: "When I came up and saw it I couldn't believe it. It's so frustrating.

"We are all volunteers. W
e don't get paid.

"We are just trying to do a good job and we can't because of these people."

Coastwatch Rossall Point is part of the National Coastwatch Institution and is attempting to bring the disused coastguard station back into use
in a volunteer-led effort to make the seafront a safer place to use.

The vandals have made a determined effort to break the windows which become marbled rather than shattering.

Seven stones were hurled at one window, three at another and one at a third.

Mr Bee added: "We have decided to put perspex in instead.

"We are talking about nearly £2,000 because it has to be of top quality.

"We have been raising money ourselves and now the money for the windows is wasted and we will have to raise that money again somehow."

Coastwatch is still appealing for new members to undergo training and man the lookout station.

do parents ever wonder what their children are up to? or notice when they are drunk? there are groups of underage drinkers that congregate very close to this area, they are there in the afternoon and evening with their large bottles of alcopops.

Once caught make them, or their parents, PAY to clean up the damage their "little darlings" have done. If they claim "I can't afford it as I'm on Benefit", take money direct from their benefit until the damage has been paid for. If they are not on benefit, take it straight from their bank account.
