Hed Kandi in Blackpool

It's another crazy Hed Kandi night at The Syndicate on Saturday with DJs Andy Warburton and Sam Cannon plus Chris B on percussion and a live PA by Peyton.
There will be the usual amazing Hed Kandi decor with in-house Syndicate dancers, stilt walkers and fire eaters to add to the fun.
The massive Syndicate is a far cry from Andy Warburton's dj debut which he reckons was The True Brit pub on the Isle Of Sheppey in Kent back in 1989 playing acid/Balearic house.
It was three years later when he got a residency for a night called Euphoria in Kent and things began to happen.
But his favourite gig was playing the Terrace for Cream back in 2000 and going on after K-Klass.
"I was that nervous I didn't look up for the first four records," he said. "But the most nervous I've ever been was playing before Sasha at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza in 1999.
"He's one of my all time favourite DJs so I couldn't mess up in front of him, could I?
His favourite music to travel to is "old Jose Padilla tapes or anything that's remotely Balearic" and he says his favourite dance records of all time are "far too many to mention."
At just 21, Chris B on percussion is one of the youngest performers on the dance scene, yet last year showed the dance scene that he will be a name firmly on people's lips throughout 2008 and for a long time to come.
Live and in the studio, Chris's performances have been explosive both at home and abroad, showing ability and maturity beyond his years.
Chris has already established himself as one of the top players in clubland, with extensive gigging, recording and touring experience under his belt already.
Throughout last year Chris continued his Thursday night residency at established Birmingham night Spin as well as high profile events with Hed Kandi, Miss Moneypenny's and Galaxy FM.
The summer saw him playing Ibiza with Pukka Up, Quartz, Stonebridge, MYNC project and Mauro Picotto as well as big sets back in the UK alongside various star names including Brandon Block, Kate Lawler, Miss Allister Whitehead, K Klass and UK garage legends the Dream Team and Artful Dodger, as well as live with The Twang, Musical Youth, vocalists Tara McDonald and Peyton and saxophonist The Lovely Laura.
In many ways Peyton is a product of the 21st Century's notion of "celebrity". It's hard to imagine him existing in the public eye 10 years ago, let alone 20 or 30.
His recent biography reads like the kind of "famous for being famous" story that normally passes for an interesting personality these days.
Having started his own catering company he was recommended by a friend as the perfect person to cover the food and drink section of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy UK – seeing him become a global phenomenon.
But he's more than just another wannabe. The proverbial son of a preacher man he travelled the world singing in gospel choirs.
His initial career path led him to a professorship in literature in Colombia – via a move to England and a Masters degree in English Literature from Leeds University – then a few years in the US plying away at art and music before a moving back to England and a PhD in Latin American Literature.
A life immersed in gospel, Latin American, Northern Soul and the UK music scene in general promises much but in truth it is only the voice that reflects such a background on his eponymous debut album – an amalgamation of Anastasia, George Michael, M People and The Pet Shop Boys.
