There's magic in the air at Fleetwood Marine Hall later this month when the Northern Magic Circle brings its annual convention to the port.
The event– a smaller version of the annual Blackpool Magicians' Club Convention – will take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 27 and 28, with a host of events for magicians and non-magicians alike.
There will be lectures, workshops, dealers fair and competitions throughout the weekend for the magic conventioneers along with public shows on both days.
Magicians will fly in from America along with many travelling from Europe to attend what will be the Northern Magic Circle's 54th annual gathering.
With a membership stretching from London to Scotland and beyond, the Northern Magic Circle moves its annual convention to a different location each year ,to ensure it is as accessible as possible for its members to attend.
"The Northern Magic Circle Convention is now appealing to a far wider audience than its own membership and this, coupled with the star names it now attracts is ensuring the society and its convention continues to go from strength to strength," said Alan Mylecraine from the NMC Convention Team.
The Saturday morning will feature the Magical Mayhem Show which featuring children's entertainers from throughout the UK including Cleveleys magician Paul Joyce, the illusions and balloon magic of Darren Bonas, Brian Sefton, past UK Children's Entertainer of the Year John Dixon (Mr Trix) and clown couple Clive Moore and Jean Ellison.
The weekend event will culminate in a Sunday evening gala show including performances by Nathan Kranzo - a magical inventor from America whose effects are used by the likes of David Copperfield and Penn & Teller; World Junior Magic Champion Stephen Williams; Grand Theatre panto regular Steve Royle; Thom Peterson from the Magic Castle in Los Angeles; Parkinson show and Mind Games favourite, Marc Paul; ventriloquist Steve Hewlett; Fleetwood's own Chesters Dance Academy; Blackpool-based international illusionist Guy Barrett who will perform excerpts from his full evening show for the first time ever at a magic convention and master of ceremonies John Hotowka.
Tickets for the Magical Mayhem Show on Saturday are £6 and the show starts at 10.30am.
Gala Show tickets are £8 for adults and £6 for children and concessions. All tickets are available from the Marine Hall box office or online at www.northernmagic.co.uk where a full schedule of the weekend's events can also be found.
