THE team at Blackpool Odeon are hosting a fundraising event on Sunday to raise much needed cash for the NSPCC.
And runners who finish the Beaverbrooks Blackpool 10K Fun Run can claim themselves a two for one ticket for the event by showing their medal.

On Sunday Blackpool Odeon general manager Colin Alexander and six of his team are running in the event.

Colin along with Phil Edge, who is cinema manager, Louise Smith, the team leader and Ian Kay, Jen Webster, Emma Purvis and Christian Corbett, who are team members, have been training over the past few weeks.

But they were keen not just to run but to add a sense of fun at the cinema for the day as well. So they decided to choose a film that most summed up their efforts to get in shape for the run.

Whilst Colin opted for Chariots of Fire he was voted down in favour of Run, Fatboy, Run – the huge comedy hit from late last year starring Simon Pegg.

Run, Fatboy, Run (cert 12A) will be shown on Sunday at 6pm (doors open 5.30pm). Entertainment Films have donated the film for free, and the Odeon is handing over every penny of the box office receipts to the NSPCC. Tickets for the fundraiser are priced £4 – and those finishing the 10K can show their medal to claim the two for one offer.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking on odeon.co.uk, by calling 0871 22 44 007, or by dropping into the Odeon, Rigby Road, Blackpool.
