It's time for old time again next week when Blackpool producer and entertainer Duggie Chapman presents the Matinee Music Hall in the Winter Gardens Pavilion Theatre from Tuesday.
The show will play each Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon at 2pm until the end of July and return again for two afternoons per week from the end of September through to October.

It’s a pure nostalgia show for those old enough to remember the halcyon
days of Saturday night television variety and Sunday Night at the London Palladium, and for those who just want to be cheered up in these sombre days.

The Pavilion Theatre is an ideal venue for senior citizens and disabled parties as there are no stairs or steps, with access direct from the Church Street entrance.

This year’s Matinee Music Hall show features a new face to Blackpool, Gordon Cree – a vocalist and versatile musician playing the marimba and piano.

As a young man of 20 he was accompanist to celebrity soprano Moira Anderson, prior to becoming a stage performer himself.

Gordon heads a Blackpool cast of veteran performers including comedian Duggie Clark, who starred for over 10 years in the 70s and 80s in the Music Hall on Blackpool Central Pier for the late Peter Webster.

Back by public request is Blackpool’s most versatile comedy musician Pete Lindup. As a young man he started his career with Lancashire comedian Jack Storey and progressed from drummer to a fine musician featuring over 12 instruments. Pete also hosts the show.

Following her previous seasons at the Pavilion with Danny La Rue and the popular We’ll Meet Again show, soprano Beryl Johnson (inset) returns with Songs from the Shows and Music Hall Memories.

Mark Raffles, local star magician, will be bringing his comedy magic to the programme and live musical backing is from the Steve Clark Band.

Tickets ar £11 (concessions £9 - children free with paying adult) are available at www.blackpoollive.com or on (0844) 856 1111.

Ticket price includes free interval tea and biscuits.
