IAN Evatt was sent off six minutes into last season's clash at Bramall Lane. This year Danny Coid nods into his own net.
In these parts, like kids learning to cycle, Blackpool seem to have problems early on.
However, on both occasions, it is heartening to report that Pool battled back from adversity to claim excellent points.
It was 1-1 in the corresponding fixture last term and last night Pool should have walked away with perhaps an even better result.
They produced yet another excellent away performance and at the heart of it were Charlie Adam and Keith Southern.
The former is proving a magnificent signing by Tony Parkes and Steve Thompson, the physical yet skilful presence Pool have been crying out for, not just this season but for many a year.
Southern, meanwhile, continues to do what he always has and it amazes he that some on the terraces still, from time to time, doubt his ability. OK, he's not got the tricks of Robinho but he'll make many more tackles and help forge a better team spirit than the Brazilian.
And that's been the key in the last two games. A togetherness and a combined will to win.

Of course, it is wise not to get too carried away. Things are still a little too tight at the bottom and a couple of defeats and Pool are back in the sticky stuff.
But things are certainly looking up again. Nick Blackman could be a real find, his goal and all round performance ensuring he had a debut to remember.
Crucially DJ Campbell is back to the player he was when he first arrived. His body language is better and he's enjoying his football again.
The same couldn't be said of Danny Coid last night. But one bad game doesn't make a bad player. Coid has been class of late. I'll wager he'll be at Barnsley on Saturday.
