THE hunt is on to find Burnley's most glamorous women.
Applicants are being sought for Miss Burnley 2010 with the winner getting the chance to represent the town at the Miss England competition.

The organisers of the event are looking for an ambassador for the area who is well presented, confident and
able to communicate well.

Event organiser Nadia Musa said: "We haven't had anyone representing Burnley in the Miss England final for a few years, so it's important that this year we have an ambassador to represent the town.

"We're hoping as many local girls as possible enter the competition so we can show the rest of the UK that some of the most beautiful and intelligent girls in the country come from the Burnley area."

The winner of Miss Burnley 2010 will win a place in the Miss England semi-final where she will then have a chance to go onto Miss World 2010, in Vietnam, where the main prize is $100,000.

Contestants, who must be aged between 17 and 24 and must never have been married or have children, have until Friday, February 26th, to enter via www.missburnley.co.uk.

The organisers also aim to raise money for the Variety Club Children's Charity through fundraising and activities with the competition final taking place on Thursday, May 27th, at Turf Moor.
