Woman's 'glancing blow' from tram

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she was hit by a tram on Blackpool Promenade.
The 23-year-old sustained minor injuries from "a glancing blow" at around 6.15pm yesterday.

The woman, who has not been named by police, was walking across the Prom, near to the Pleasure Beach, when she was hit.

She was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Fire destroys shed

FIRE CREWS were called to a Mereside home after fire broke out in the garden.

A shed was well alight when crews arrived at the house in Grizedale Road at around 2.40pm yesterday.

Water jets were used to put out the flames but the shed was destroyed.

FIRE crews were called to a blaze in South Shore yesterday morning.

Three engines were called to a house on Levens Grove, South Shore where a small amount of rubbish had caught fire.

The fire was put out quickly and no one was injured.
