LOVE will once again be in the air when the Blackpool Loves You campaign returns for Valentine's Day 2010.
This year, more than 8,000 people took part in the campaign, designed to
enable residents to enjoy all Blackpool has to offer for free or discounted rates.

Heritage open days, free dog micro-chipping, entry to attractions and parking offers were some of the highlights of the event.

Blackpool Council is now asking resort residents to let them know what they would like to do next year.

People will have to wait until January to hear the final list of what is on offer but the council has guaranteed there will be free entry
to attractions and free parking across the whole town just for starters.

Coun Steve Houghton said:"We had more than 20 activities on offer in 2009 and we want it to be even better next year.

"This is a day just for residents, so we want to know what they would like to do in Blackpool that day."

Ideas can be e-mailed to love.blackpool@blackpool.gov.uk and leave your comments below.

Good to hear the council will be guaranteeing free parking across the town centre - I work in the main centre and if I have to use the council car parks it can cost up to £9 a shift so this is a fantastic idea!

Free speech on the Gazette website is what I want.

I'm with overwyer, free entry to the Tower and maybe also the zoo would be good.

A day without the clown who keeps stopping other people making there points on here would be nice....but i expect this comment to last 5 minutes.

I'm not a local but I would have said why don't the council stop giving away things free, and use the savings to reduce council tax? That way Blackpool residents get to keep more of their own money and can spend it as they choose.
