IT might seem like a difficult thing to hide – but this concert pianist can't find a grand piano anywhere.
Gino Marchetti hopes to share his love of classical music with Blackpool as well as raise cash for Donna's Dream House.
But his dream of tinkling the ivories for charity is fading as, although the resort has an abundance of upright pianos, not a single grand can be found.
The 56-year-old music teacher said: "I think it's simply ghastly Blackpool doesn't have a grand piano.
"I've a good mind to hold another charity concert to raise enough cash to buy one for the town.
"I have contacted all the big hot-els and local theatres but nobody seems to have one.
"I even spoke to the mayor about it and suggested he sell the mayoral car and buy a piano for Blackpool.
"I'm just hoping someone will come forward and let us borrow one so the concert can go ahead."
Gino, who is based in Glasgow, has played all over the world as a professional concert pianist and is planning to hold his concert on January 31 at The Imperial Hotel.
The pianist has planned a programme of Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven but is also including the work by modern artists such as Katie Melua.
Gino said: "Grand pianos have such a beautiful fulsome tone, there really is no comparison.
"I am hoping to play part of Beethoven's The Emperor concerto and an upright would simply not have the depth of tone or control to do it justice.
"I also don't think it will do justice to how beautiful the room at The Imperial is and I want everything to be perfect. As well as being about charity, I also want to share how wonderful classical music is.
"I guarantee if somebody will lend us their piano it will be very well looked after and I will retune it before I send it back. "
Gino said he wanted to raise money for Donna's Dream House after hearing about the facility it provides for terminally ill children and their families.
