DANCE fans could be feeling Strictly soggy in Blackpool tomorrow as people join the scrum for entry to Blackpool Tower.
BBC's smash hit celebrity show Strictly Come Dancing is due to make a triumphant return to Blackpool this week as the competition heats up.

Fleet-footed host Bruce Forsyth and the glamorous Tess Daly will join the raft of sequinned celebrity stars, including the Fylde coast's own Craig Kelly as they motor up the M1 to the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

The dresscode for the event is glitz and glamour and guests have been told strictly no jeans will be allowed.

Unfortunately for the hundreds of fans, the chances of them looking glamorous for the TV cameras are fading fast as queues for the event are expected to form from as early as 3pm and rain is forecast.

Tickets for the event were given out by ballot in slightly higher numbers than there are seats.

Now ticket holders will have to queue as the coveted seats will be given on a first come first served basis.

A Strictly Come Dancing spokeswoman said: "It's standard policy with all BBC shows to fill seats on a first come first served basis.

"We judge ticket numbers very carefully in order to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend.

"For this reason we normally send out a few more tickets than there are seats to make sure spaces are filled.

"We are confident however everybody who wants to attend the event will have a seat on the day.

"If they don't get in they can watch the show on screens in The Opera House.

"Doors will open at 3pm."

Tickets for the Blackpool show were allocated by a random draw, which took place in September.

The public only found out they were successful when the tickets dropped on to their doormats.

Just to arrive at The Tower in any numbers all dolled up is a problem thanks to our marvellous road system nowadays. That aside I sincerely hope this is a great success and that the nation see what a real gem the underused ballroom is and hope that there may be some return visits

This could be a great thing for Blackpool..or a bit of a bad thing. If people see how wonderful the Tower Ballroom is, they may wish to visit - Great!- unless they come and visit on one of the days that it is shut, then they will go home and never come back. I do hope that they will be advertising their off-season opening hours throughout the programme.

Ah, the stars are 'motoring up the M1 to Blackpool Tower',
if only we normal folk had a motorway like that.
Is there a secret road that we don't know about?

"The dress code is glitz."
Ho, ho, ho! Did the tickets 'drop-on-the-mat' with orders on what not to wear?
"First-come-first served" - a contradiction in the next line.
OK, such programmes as this do get Blackpool mentioned but will it do the resort any good?
I'd like to bet that The Opera House and it's 'big screens' will be nearly empty.

If anyone had any common-sense they would stay away from this event and not waste their time queuing for ages in the inclement weather.

Also this area is an outdoor mall and all the pedestrian only roads that boarder Hounds Hill Mall should all be put under glass.

I've got tickets for this event and was looking forward to it till you lot started.
Any idea whether I queue back or front of the Tower?
Either way, as long as we get in I know we'll enjoy it.

Wilfred, those of us who read and write the letters on here regularly know it is a competition to write the most miserable piece you can. So just enjoy your day.

Hello Wilfred, the queue starts at the top of the tower and goes downwards. If I were you I'd try to join-in half way. Jump the queue but don't jump off.

Stop being so negative about things you lot! You're a right bunch of miseries!!!!

@Wilfred 22, the entrance to this is the promenade doors, so you'll (hopefully) be under cover for most of the waiting time. Enjoy it!
