AGRI-LLOYD, part of the Lytham-based Tangerine Group, has reported a record six months of domestic sales.
The company sells animal health and nutritional supplements directly to farmers through a network of independent sales agents.

Despite problems caused last year by Bluetongue, and Foot and Mouth disease – which meant Agri-Lloyd was unable to do business with many farmers – the company has announced record sales for the last six months.

J Scott Shearer, divisional director of farm animal products at Tangerine Group, said: "Agricultural business can be a volatile industry at the best of times, and with the history of Foot and Mouth, and more recently Bluetongue, there isn't a business or farmer that hasn't suffered in some way.

"We are in a privileged position – there will be many companies in this sector who are still struggling – and I put our success down to our investment in research and production, and our great team of staff."

As well as operating domestically, Agri-Lloyd also distributes across much of Europe.
