ARTISTS will be sharing their talents with the community this summer.
Fylde Community Arts Projects has announced the second Marsh Mill art competition will be held in Thornton over the four weekends of August leading up to the Marsh Mill Art and Music Festival held over the August 24 and 25 bank holiday weekend.

Th
e competition is open to all residents of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde who are over the age of 16.

Work can be submitted in any medium and on any subject and can then be entered for sale with prizes given for the best exhibits and 12 chosen for next year's promotional calendar.

Arranging

In June the Community Arts Project will also be in Poulton Square for the annual day of dance, and the third primary schools poetry competition for Wyre Primary school children is underway.

The group is also arranging Sunday concerts at Marsh Mill from June up to the music and art festival in August.

Marjorie Nye, chairwoman of the community group said: "This is a very busy year for us as we have already launched the Dreamworld art competition for Cleveleys sea front and the Wyre Poetry competition for key stage two children.

"We are here to prove that the people of the Fylde really do have talent and we will continue to look for ways to promote local musicians writers and artists throughout the year," added Marjorie.

Entry forms can be obtained from Marjorie Nye at: mnye@hotmail.co.uk or from Thornton Little Theatre, Thornton Library and Blackpool Library.
