BLACKPOOL'S Veterans Week has got the Royal seal of approval.
It was today confirmed the Duchess of Cornwall will join thousands in the resort to celebrate National Veterans Day in the resort on Friday June 27.

Organisers and council leaders today said they were "honoured" that The Duchess, who is Royal Colonel of the 4th Battalion The Rifles, Commodore-in-Chief of Naval Medical Services, Royal Navy, and Lady Sponsor of HMS Astute, will be visiting the resort for the first time as part of the national celebrations.

Major Jim Houldsworth, chairman of the Fylde ex-Service Liason committee, said: "We are very pleased that we are being granted a Royal visit.

"This is the first veterans Day where a member of the Royal family has visited. We are very honoured that Blackpool has been chosen."

Coun Maxine Callow, cabinet member for Tourism and Regeneration, said: "We are absolutely delighted that The Duchess of Cornwall will be leading the celebrations."

Excellent news, despite what papers like the Daily Hate (Mail) say, Camilla is really nice and owing to her father's experiences is really passionate about veteran wellfare. This is one lady I will que to see.

Oh come on, Zim. Do you really have nothing else to do with your time? Do something for yourself, mow the lawn or paint the fence, no one will appreciate your efforts when you're dead. There's no virtue in being servile.

Was it you that reported my last comments as unsuitable?

BTW, it's spelt queue.

The only thing she was ever passionate about was stealing someone else's husband.

Hi Matt, no I didn't report your comments, I've got better things to do with my time then to report people from Yorkshire who criticise people for enjoying themselves.

Zimflyer will queue to see an adulterous woman who was hard facingly bonking the heir to the throne right under his wife's nose...
Pity he was not around in Anne Boleyn's day, he probably would have queued to see her beheaded!

Neo2012, why are you so bitter about adultery, did your own husband play away?

Give Camilla a chance and support her on Veteran's Day, she writes and meets to lots of injured soldiers and does alot of work behind the scenes which goes unrecognised but makes a big difference to all concerned.
