BLACKPOOL'S hotel industry is gripped by Royal Variety fever with "No vacancies" signs popping up across the resort.
Stars – many known to be using aliases – have booked in at some of the town's more exclusive guest houses while the larger hotels are cashing in on crews and audience members.

What is usually a quiet week in December for accommodation owners will be bustling with VIPs and ITV officials, as well as A-List celebrities.

The Queen will arrive by train at Blackpool North before the grand event at the Opera House on December 7.

She will be joined on the red carpet by a long list of famous faces, including Whoopi Goldberg, Bette Midler, Britain's Got Talent winners Diversity and Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus.

Preparations for the royal party are being made with Blackpool Council closing some roads in the town centre before the performance.

Bosses at The Hilton and Imperial Hotels have both confirmed they have taken "block bookings" for the show and will be full on the night.

Poster 1...where exactly does the article even hint that this will end Blackpool's problems ? Are you just another one of those who loves to pick holes in even the smallest piece of good news.
This is a great boost for the resort as a whole.

I bet the guests cant wait to use the shared bathrooms , get to grips with the teasmaids & enjoy the delights of central heating & colour TV's. Some people state that time travel is not possible , it is here, only need the lights to off at 8pm , youd be forgiven for thinking it was 1973.

Bet they cant wait for the cabaret crooners to kick of , enjoy such delights as fruit juice for starters , that most desirebale of features bits of 3x2 with a waney edge no nailed to the artex ceiling & electric candlelight. Who said style & taste where gone?

Hope the guests have brought a pith helmet & elephant gun , you could go big game hunting for the wild creatures that festoon Talbot Rd , Caunce Street , Milbourne Street & the other streets of disrepute that provide us all with so many laughs.

if the queens arriving by rail , lets hope its dark , then she wont notice the fine vista that is Wilkos & the bus station. Would love to hear what the Duke Of Edinburgh thinks , be like a trip down memory lane , reminiscing about the how the town reminds them of London in the blitz
