SOME of entertainment's biggest names are heading to Blackpool as the Royal Variety line-up is revealed.
Award-winning comedian Peter Kay will host the show which will come to the town's legendary Opera House the first time since 1955.

He will be joined by Hollywood stars Bette Midler and Whoopi Goldberg.

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Britain's Got Talent champs Diversity, teen superstar Miley Cyrus, classical singer Katherine Jenkins and the cast of West End production Sister Act will also be performing, in the presence of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Critically acclaimed comedians Jason Manford and Paddy McGuinness will also appear on the bill.

Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh have also confirmed their attendance.

The star studded spectacular will take place on 7 December and be screened on ITV1 later that month.

To my distinct surprise, I'm actually impressed by the line-up. What they'll make of Blackpool is anyone's guess

Better keep Bob Geldof or Bono away or they'l be getting villages in Africa to hold fundraising concerts for the inhabitants around Talbot & Central Dive.

Just wish they'd have 30 mins of the Duke Of Edinburgh doing some stand up, now that would be worth seeing.

Saw Bette Midler in June and she was fantastic, a show not to be missed if only to watch her!

At least one good act-K Jenkins. The so-called comics are poor.

Great line-up and gutted we didnt get tickets. Mindyou, I dont know anyone that did. I guess its like the FA cup final these days were you only get tickets if you are famous or loaded!! oh and for those who suggest the comedians are poor, I question your sense of humour!!

Peter Kay, there's a one trick pony.

I actually enjoyed Top of the Tower but why hasn't he done any stand up since? That X Factor rip off was utterly dreadful.

We got tickets,we checked the website each morning and the morning they went on sale got in quick, you dont have to be famous or loaded ( well they were £200 each)but you do have to be fast because they sold out same day,you also buy them blind because the only act for sure was Diversity when we purchased them. but we are pleased with the line up so far.
