Power cut hits 1,300 homes

MORE than 1,000 homes were without electricity following a power cut in Cleveleys.
Residents woke up to find no power on Saturday.

Power went off in 1,300 homes at 7.50am.

engineering teams work to fix a high voltage fault and power was restored to all homes by midday.

A spokesman for United Utilities said: "The problem was with a high voltage fault.

"1,300 homes were without electricity, but power was restored to 500 of those within an hour."
