POLICE have been distributing fliers on the streets of Blackpool in a desperate bid to trace missing teenager Charlene Downes.
But hopes for the 15-year-old's safe return appear slimmer every day after detectives last week admitted she might be dead.
Officers handed out more than 3,000 fliers on the Promenade near North Pier on Saturday night to try to gain more clues to what happened on the night of her disappearance.
It came on the anniversary of the day Charlene vanished and was carried out at the spot where she was last seen.
Charlene was just 14-years-old when she disappeared on November 1 last year. The fliers are designed to jog the memories of Lights visitors from last year.
Contact Blackpool Police on (01253) 293933 or the National Missing Persons Helpline on 0500 700 700.
