A MOTHER accused of abducting her own children and taking them abroad has had her case committed to crown court.
Trudy Crofts, 30, formerly of Holmfield Road, North Shore now of no fixed address, is charged with abducting her daughters Carene, 12, and Shelby, 11, and removing them illegally from Britain to Morocco on August 17 this year.

Crofts was arrested in Spain and brought back to Britain.

Her daughters were recently returned from abroad to the care of their grandmother Rita Astbury, of Milbourne Street, Blackpool, who has a residency order for the children to live with her.

The girls had disappeared on August 17 following a trip to the swimming baths.

Crofts appeared before the court via a video link from Styal Prison.

Blackpool magistrates remanded Crofts in custody to appear at the higher court on January 21.
