BLACKPOOL MP Gordon Marsden has joined the fight against climate change by signing up for action.
He backed an Early Day Motion demanding politicians come to an agreement on the way forward at a crucial UN climate change summit in Copenhagen next month.
In signing the motion, politicians are pushing for the issue to be debated in Parliament as soon as possible.
Mr Marsden said: "A lot of people in Blackpool want to see real results in Copenhagen.
"This includes my local students at Blackpool Sixth Form College, whose eco-council I met the other week. They are co-ordinating a campaign of awareness of climate change action for Blackpool's young people."
Calvin Yuen, a student at Blackpool Sixth Form College, added: "Working towards an eco-friendly environment is something that can't be done individually, it's something which needs to be done collaboratively and internationally."
