BLACKPOOL girl Jodie Prenger could be just three hours away from West End stardom - and we'll be following her with our live blog!
6pm I'd Do Anything starts with the now familiar theme music - it's hard to imagine a few weeks ago few had even heard of Jodie - or her rivals!

The voting lines are open, Graham Norton tells us - but we've not had the numbers yet, so how are we supposed to vote?

All the girls who've appeared in the show sing I'd Do Anything to kick off - it's really not hard to see why some of them haven't made it!

Norton gives Lord Lloyd Webber his usual overblown welcome - and the Lord humours him as usual. Jodie takes centre stage as she excitedly discusses the week's agenda

And thanks - the number to vote for Jodie is 09011212001 - remember to ask the bill payer's permission etc - complaints to the BBC please, not The Gazette!

Jodie, the heartwarmer according to the Lord, is up first - is this an advantage or a handicap? We'll see...

'It doesn't happen to people like me' she says - let's hope she's wrong!

She's singing Son of a Preacher Man - and she's giving a calm, balanced performance - confident and in control but strong and powerful - the signs are good and she is the pre-show favourite.

John Barrowman - a firm fan of Jodie - looks forward to guest-starring with Jodie in the West End - but the Lord thinks it might not quite be enough - to resounding boos.

The Isle of Man's Sam is next up - bonny girl and a good singer - but surely too young to be a credible Nancy? Apparently the island's phone system is expected to creak under the weight of votes for this girl tonight.

She's got all the attributes of a West End leading lady, the judges say - and they're right, but that doesn't make HER right for the part.

Now it's Jessie's go. I think the Lord has been willing to give her the boot for several weeks - certainly ahead of Rachael last week. But the County Kerry girl keeps getting saved by the public - which, givent hat it's a public vote tonight, could make her the big threat to Jodie.

She is SO ready for this part - the same thing she's been saying all series. Jessie's a decent performer but perhaps least likely to have a big career later. But impressario Cameron Mackintosh and the Lord agree she was 'born to play Nancy'.

6.30pm Jodie's up again - this time performing Getting to Know You with one of the munchkins lined up to play Oliver - in all the hype around the Nancy hunt it's easy to forget that the urchin is the real star of the show (even if it is - hopefully - Jodie's name on the poster)

It' Sam's duet now. I'm thinking 'slightly older sister' as against Jodie's more motherly performance - which one's right for Nancy? Give us your views in the comments section below. Jessie bridges the gap between those two extremes.

6.45pm There's more giggling as the girls enjoy a masterclass with Liza Minnelli, who is nearly as excitable herself! Jodie is 'just wonderful' says Liza. Jodie crys. Again.

The lines are frozen - so don't vote. We're about to hear who the first Nancy to go out on the night will be. It's a nervous wait - surely Jodie's done enough to get to the last two? She's got the backing of Lee Mead, winner of last year's hunt for a Joseph!

So who is in third - a nervous moment.

Jessie's in the final, she's done her best work tonight.

And Jodie's done it! Samantha goes out! Fantastic! We'll be back after Doctor Who and a quick run to the Chinese for the final final (if that makes sense) at 8.45pm
