THE Blackpool-born soldier who died trying to save others will receive a full military funeral in Lytham on Tuesday, December 8.
Corporal Loren Marlton-Thomas, 28, of 33 Engineer Regiment, was killed in Afghanistan by an improvised explosive device while clearing a route for the troops in Helmand Province, last week.

Hundreds are expected to line the streets of Lytham as the cortège and Union flag-draped coffin proceeds through the town from Cecil Street.

The cortège will pause at the cenotaph just after 11am.

It will continue on Clifton Street, turning right at Station Road and back towards Ansdell along East Beach, into Fairlawn Road, Blackpool Road, over Skew Bridge and to St Joseph's RC Church for the service at noon.
