A YOUNG father was today in a serious condition in hospital after being found with serious head injuries outside a Blackpool church in the early hours of Friday.
Graeme Spence, 28, was found on the pavement in Church Street by a passer-by who ran into a nearby bar to raise the alarm.
Father-of-one Mr Spence was taken to Blackpool Victoria before being transferred to Royal Preston.
His condition was today d
escribed as "serious but stable."

Blaze at store
A FIRE in the basement of a shop in Caunce Street, Blackpool, caused smoke damage to the entire premises.
Fire crews were called the premises at 7.13pm yesterday.
Launderette crash
SAFETY inspectors were called to a town centre launderette after a car crashed into a building.
Two men were seen running from the wreckage of the Coin Age on Park Road, Blackpool, in the early hours today.
A blue Rover 420 was embedded in the front of the premises. Damage was caused to equipment inside the launderette resulting in water pouring out of the front door.
Promenade closed
NORTH Promenade in Blackpool was closed for 45 minutes after high winds resulted in a car veering into the path of another vehicle.
Both drivers suffered only minor injuries in the incident, outside the Hilton Hotel, on Saturday afternoon.
But the road had to be closed for a short time because one of the vehicles became stuck in the middle of the road.
Driver hurt
A WOMAN was taken to hospital after sustaining facial injuries in a car crash in St Andrews Road South, St Annes, shortly before midnight on Saturday.
Her blue citroen estate had crashed into a telegraph pole.
