"LEAVE town or we'll stab you".
This was the chilling threat which finally forced terrified Fleetwood dad David Calvert to flee the port.
The 27-year-old is today in hiding after leaving town amid accusations he was child killer Jon Venables.
His new life was wrecked again this week as the old and totally untrue rumours returned – this time as part of a sick internet campaign.
Text messages stating Mr Calvert was the killer have been sent to mobile phones across the UK while more than 2,500 people joined a group on social networking site Facebook calling for the innocent man to be killed.
The father-of-four says all his problems date back to his time in Fleetwood, when the allegations he was one of James Bulger's killers began.
Mr Calvert, originally from Liverpool, said: "It was an horrific experience in Fleetwood.
"I moved there in 2003 and after living there for more than two years, rumours were started by my neighbours.
"I suddenly started receiving hate mail and death threats, and I was worried sick for my children.
"The final straw came when I was in a pub on Tram Sunday, and someone said if I didn't leave, I would be taken outside the pub and be stabbed.
"I left at midnight, in a van, and never went back."
