Blackpool stab pair jailed

TWO teenagers who left a man paralysed in a brutal stabbing have been jailed.

David Watson, 18, of Singleton Street, Blackpool, and a 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted attacking Kieran Whitfield as he walked home from a night out.

They have both been jailed for nine years at Preston Crown Court.

Mr Whitfield, 22, from South Shore, was stabbed in his back, shoulder and chest as he walked down St Annes Road, South Shore in August last year.

He has been left paralysed from the chest down.

Watson and the 17-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A third teenager, Zachery Penn, 18, of has been handed a community sentence after pleading guilty to an affray charge at an earlier hearing.
