HAMEUR Bouazza won't play for Blackpool again until the final few games of the season.
The winger has suffered further problems with the groin injury that has dogged him since the African Cup of Nations and will be rested for the remainder of the month.

In an ideal world he would have surgery. But with Bouazza desperate to play in this summer's World Cup he will instead be nursed through the final stages of the league campaign, to allow him to remain fit enough to travel to South Africa and represent his country.

In effect it is a case of postponing the operation he probably requires until after the World Cup.

With a six-week rehabilitation period required after surgery, it means Bouazza will be back during the pre-season and should be fit and ready to go for the start of the Seasiders' next campaign.

But in the short-term it means the 25-year-old won't be available and that is a major blow for Ian Holloway, who – with Pool aiming for the play-offs – wants as many options as possible during the run-in.

"Hameur is going to struggle," said Holloway.

"If we can get him fit for the last six games of the season then my physio will have worked wonders.

"He hasn't been the same since he came back from the African Cup of Nations because he has sore groins.

"We gave him an injection after he returned and he's had another injection since.

"But when the problem comes back as painful as it did within the space of time that it did, it normally means they might need an operation – and that is what's happened with Hameur."

Well, it doesn't matter if he plays for Pool does it, so long as he's fit for the World Cup. Maybe Algeria should pay his wages.

Simple choice mate 3 games as sub for Algeria or a career in the top end of English football, you decide!

Disappointing. I can understand his desire to play in the World Cup, it may be his only opportunity to go there with Algeria, but we pay his wages and we are pushing for promotion. If we were middle table it wouldn't matter as much. A big blow for us. That said, the next two or three games for us could determine whether we will challenge for that last play off spot or not. Three defeats and the gap would be too much to claw back.

Tough one:

The cynical side of me says what a load of rubbish. Not playing for Blackpool so he is ready for the World Cup - shocking considering we pay his wages.

The not so cynical side says it might be only chance to play in world cup as post 3 points out.

Either way, it's disappointing.

Another groin injury, why are so many players suffering with this. Has anyone any idea why we were turned to to re sign JET for him then to be sent out to Doncaster. Any ideas Cheers Dave

Wenger wants JET to play regular passing football, on a decent pitch...Doncaster is a better option considering our pitch looks more like Boundary Park.

And take the world cup out of Hameurs schedule and nothing changes, he'd still be out for the next few weeks. If he had the op now, it'd leave him unavailable for the rest of the season. Atleast with him looking at the WC we get him for the last 6 games then he goes to the WC and has the op afterwards.
