BLACKPOOL loan signing Lee Hendrie was not fit enough to start against Preston North End – but if he trains hard this week he could be thrown in at Wolves on Saturday.
The former Villa man would relish a chance to get one over on the table-topping Midlanders.

But primarily he'll relish just being on a football pitch again.

The ex-Premier League star is out in the cold at Sheffield United but has been offered a chance to get his career back on track by Simon Grayson.

He has signed on loan until January 1 but the Seasiders have an option to make it permanent should the 31-year-old's stay be successful.

After the disappointing defeat at the hands of North End, Grayson has warned his squad that everyone's place is under threat – and that's why Hendrie has such a good chance of starting at Wolves.

Grayson said: "Lee Hendrie is a good player. He is very versatile and can play through the middle or down either side.

"He is a player I know from my time at Aston Villa. I asked about him on Friday, we got the green light and I signed him later that night.

"None of the players can have any complaints or question me should they not be in the team next Saturday."
