DJ Campbell returned to pre-season training at Leicester City today, though how long he'll be there remains to be seen.
Campbell has made it clear on several occasions that he wants to leave the Foxes.
Blackpool are desperate to sign him but cannot match the frontman's £9,000-a-week wage demands.
Leicester chief executive Lee Hoos said: "His contract is here and it's up to me, Nigel Pearson and DJ to sort something out."
Campbell is under contract at the Walkers Stadium until summer 2011.
He scored nine goals in 19 starts on loan at Blackpool last term, but he is not wanted by the Foxes and available for a fee of around £250,000.
Pool had a bid accepted for the striker earlier in the summer but the move fell through because of Campbell's wages, which are twice that of the Seasiders' highest paid player.
Pool boss Ian Holloway has strengthened his forward line, bringing in 21-year-old Irishman Billy Clarke on a free transfer from Ipswich.
And Clarke, like the rest of the Seasiders squad, had better be prepared for a different style of football next season.
Holloway claims he has spent his year out of the game studying different formations and won't be starting the season with the usual 4-4-2 favoured by most managers.
"I used to be 4-4-2 but I've some new ideas so I will adapt," he said.
"I think the game is moving forward and I am ready for it.
"It's the entertainment business and I'm going to try to entertain the fans and try to win some games.
