Twins Rebecca and Victoria Lowe both had plenty to celebrate at Fleetwood Town FC's junior presentations night.
Rebecca was named clubman of the year for the under-14 girls, and was the unanimous choice of the players and parents.

Left-back Victoria was named most improved player for the same team. Both girls attend Hodgson School.

Team manager Paul Holme was full of praise for both girls.
Ashley McGough was voted Under-15 Players' Player of the Year.

Ash lost his father last year and team manager Chris Garrett said: "Ash is learning to live with the loss of his dad and has used his football to ease the pain. He's a caring and confident young man who has an excellent manner.

"He's a good all round footballer and always keen to share his point of view in a positive way. His dad, Tim, would be proud."

Ashley's mum Fiona said: "I was so proud of Ashley. It was one of life's magical moments.

"My husband, Tim, brought the boys up on football. Ashley's brother, Michael (17) is a youth coach with Fleetwood Town and works with the Saturday Morning Club.

"God bless football – it's kept the lads out of trouble and I always know where they are and what they are doing.

"I'm just so grateful to Fleetwood Town. It's that that has got him through.

"All Ashley's mates are so supportive. They have been absolutely fantastic. "

Under-8s manager Rob Purdon was voted coach of the year.

Juniors secretary Steve Beane said: "Rob received the award in recognition of his ability to teach and motivate young players.

"He has developed the team to a good level and the lads play decent football for their age group. Rob is an organised and committed coach and was the overwhelming choice."

Town skipper Jamie Milligan was delighted to present the awards.
The midfielder said: "I liked seeing the players award medals when I was a young player, so it's good to do the presenting.

"It's good for the kids being able to mix with the first team players.

I feel it's important for us to be seen by the youngsters because they are our up and coming fan-base. Mixing together brings them closer to the club and makes them more likely to come through the gate on a Saturday afternoon.

"We had something like 150 young players at the presentation evening, with another bunch of trophies on one side for those who couldn't make it because of holidays or school trips.

"It's good to see the senior side and the juniors mixing. It doesn't happen too much at higher levels in football and that's what I like about Highbury."
