Another Real Time Strategy and another World War 2 game. Surely we have had enough of this genre. But has Relic's success and experience with Warhammer: Dawn of War got what it takes to revive this type of game.

Real time Strategy games have gone stale in recent years, since the day of Command and Conquer the genre has fallen - until now. This game simplifies and improves the interface and management so much so that all you need to use is the mouse. Troops are intelligent and will duck for cover and protect themselves under fire without your management, which saves a lot of frustration because now you can concentrate on other matters. Checkpoints need to be recovered and captured on the map. There are three different types of checkpoints: Manpower, munitions and fuel. These affect your resources and the more checkpoints you get, the more powerful you will be and the more troops and vehicles you will get.

The graphics in this game are amazing and easily the best looking RTS game out there. The whole environment is destructible and you get a real sense of chaos and violence as your troops run for cover as they are getting showered from artillery fire. You will need an amazing PC set up to be able to play this game on full graphical settings, although the game still looks great with some effects turned off. The game has been optimised using Nvidia graphics cards and if you have a 7 series card you should be fine. The sound which is something that gets rarely mentioned and is also amazing. Your sub woofer is going to get a work out with all the explosions and gunfire going on.

If you loved RTS games in the past such as Command and Conquer then you should definitely get this game. Additionally, there is a special offer on at the moment which gives you Warhammer: Dawn of War free with Company of Heroes. You should definitely seek out this offer as Warhammer is a great game in its own right which adds terrific value to the whole package.
